"We decided to go to this restaurant for dinner. It’s about 20 minutes from Mondim de Basto, in the middle of the Serra do Alvão. We were served very well by a simple and friendly lady, Dona Fernanda. For starters we had a divine salpicão, very tasty cheeses and a salad - all obviously homemade with fresh products. We had veal chops, small, very tender and tasty, the service was fast, all very clean and the price was a big surprise - too low. We recommend that they put the prices up because they are not fair. We even felt bad because produce of such high quality should be paid at the right price. We will certainly eat there again"

"Simple food, freshly made and enough to feed a horse. Almost all produce from the village itself. Looooooovely place. Very clean. In Odivelas where I live, I would pay 3x more for what I ate and without the quality of the real products from the local area. This restaurant is like an oasis on the Ermelo walking trail. I didn’t think places like this still existed. Nobody can say they know Portugal if they haven’t walked this route and stopped at Sabores do Alvão. One more detail - the owner, a country woman, speaks several languages. City service can only envy such quality.”
